Welcome to my webpage! I'm a third year doctoral student at Old Dominion University. My primary research interest areas are telework, work-life balance and sexual harassment. I am also broadly interested in gender and work-related stress.
I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut with a dual B.A. in Psychology and French. As an undergraduate, I also briefly studied at Université Laval. I finished my degree early and worked for a year and a half as a claims adjuster and appraiser as I prepared for graduate school. I completed my master's degree at Old Dominion in August 2008.
Here at Old Dominion, I work in Dr. Debra Major's organizational psychology lab. I have enjoyed many opportunities and developmental activities at ODU. I was funded by a fellowship my first year. Last year I taught undergraduate statistics. This year I am a research assistant on a grant and we are in the process of submitting another multi-year grant proposal. Both grants are designed to increase the number of women and minorities in computer science and engineering fields. While at ODU, I have interned for the City of Norfolk developing a competency-based performance management instrument and validating a selection device for fire-medics to comply with EEOC regulations. I have also gained practical experience working as both a statistical consultant and an I/O practitioner as well as through pro bono class projects. Recently, I was awarded the Clara Mayo grant for through the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, which funded my master's research on customer sexual harassment.
Please feel free to email me to talk about research, applied opportunities, I/O psychology, or life at ODU.
